if you really want a nice custom look go to a junkyard and find a mid 90s grand prix, take the shift boot out of it... you can put it on top of the selector and it fits right up to the afterthoughts shifter... gives it a nice custom look, ill try to get some pics

i have the push button shifter on my a4. does the shift ball screw on? how does it stay on there? i am guessing it has the pin that you pop out right?

I have the ball w/ the tail, it screws on. It has an adapter that slides onto the shaft and is held on by set screws w/ threads on the top to screw the ball onto, it sits flush, don't worry. No pin/staple, thats only for stockers... I got it from Thunder Racing and they engrave whatever you want on it for extra.

So no modification to the shifter what so ever?
Besides the ball shifter there isn't many choices to choose from. I had the though of trying one from a GTO other than I hear it just about totally wouldn't work. I thought maybe a C6 auto shifter but would imagine that wouldn't work either, though I could be wrong.
