Want to learn more about polishing

So im trying to think of ways to save money and learn something in the process. How big of a deal is it to learn how to polish a car with a PC polisher and pads? Im thinking about trying to salvage my paint for the time being. Im just worried that im going to hurt the paint worse than it is. The paint is in good shape but being rural daily driven since 2003ish has had its toll on it. Lots of swirls and scratches. I think im going to buy some of that amigo product that Luos uses. I really want to touch up the deeper scratches and learn how to do more paint work.

Not a big deal at all. I was nervous the 1st time I used my Porter Cable but after like 1 minute of use you'll realize that it's idiot proof. Just start with say a white polishing pad and a polish. If that doesn't yield the desired results, step up to an orange pad and a light swirl cutter.

The right products and several hours will make that paint look better than you thought it could.
Portercable is easy to use. Some products need worked in really well, others just need coated.

A thin coat is all you need. More isn't better.

I've been wondering about doing this too; my paint is in excellent shape...but I want to keep it that way! What polish do you guys recommend?

Would be nice if a sponsor carried it. But...they aren't that big yet.

Search google for 'Prima Car Care'

    AutoQuest carries Duragloss
Since your paint is already prep, try the DG105, or the DG111. The DG101 is also excellent...
