    Tip for TTop car owners

The sin is bright in TX and Fl and I got sick of those ugly insert that go on with the Velcro circle stickers. Had the on just the past 2 yrs and hated taking them out and seeing the stickers. When I had my car retinted by a friend since I had the hatch done in 5% I also removed the stickers for the inserts and had the t tops done in 5% over the factory tint and it's much better during the sunny days now and looks soo much better.

That was the first mod I did to mine. You have to find a good tint guy to make lay down right at the edges with it being curved.

I've heard that about home windows as well. Guess it depends on the grade of glass used

I just slip my inserts in. I don't use the Velcro dots. They stay in just fine without and from the outside, it just looks black.

I could see the point of those little stickers being in the way.
Although I leave the covers on ALL the time. Tops are off if it is nice enough, otherwise I like having some protection.

That is correct about the windows cracking, well at least house windows, you have to use a special tint for home windows. I have also heard before that the flexing of the body will make the tint peel off. I dont know though, I hate not having my shades in, I feel like I'm in a fish bowl.

I had the t-tops tinted in the 91 RS that I used to own. In my 02 TA I just leave the shades in all the time. If I want some sun I just pull the T-tops.

I never use the shades, they just sit on the shelf in the garage.

I'm bald (been that way for years, it's hell when you get old) and I drive the car around in the AZ sun all the time and never get sun burnt with the factory tint. It's pretty dark and effective as is,,,otherwise I'd look like a tomato. I never bother to take the Ttops out anyway.
If I drive the vert with the top down, I'm burnt in 45 minutes, I have to bring a hat along for the ride.

For me, it's not so much about the sun beating down on me, it's more about my eyes and the brightness depending on the time of day and where I'm going. So, I just keep the shades in most of the time.

And yes... it is hell getting old

I've never noticed it getting hot in there either. If that much sun was getting through the factory tint, the top of my head would have been a tomato a long time ago
