    strange problem

    ok, this is very strange.

i had my back seats folded down, and i was transporting two large trays of roast beef. the gravy from the roast beef spilled out all over and dripped down behind and under the rear seats. i cleaned them up as best i could. after 3 days, my car now smells like rotting beef.

what the hell should i do? should i try to remove the bottom part of the back seats and clean? how do i do that?

after you get it cleaned you might try leaving some baking soda inside car over night.

    No, forget the bleach idea.

Pull the seats out and clean them. Febreeze and baking soda are your best bets.

Is this a Trans? I am unsure cause you said something about folding the seats down. If it is there's a topic about removing the seats in the Trans Am section.

Pretty sure 98-02 models all have the fold down seat. People just probably don't realize it folds down.

There is nothing to removing the seats either, just look at them and you will figure it fairly easy.

You guys have to be screwing around. Grab the bottom of the seat push in and raise up, the seats will come out. Proably can rent a carpet cleaner, febreze will just mask the smell. Need to get all the gravy out. Then the febrez and the baking soda. I went on leave one time being chased out of town by a storm. When I came back 2 weeks later I was met by 2 week old meat in a refridge that was out in mid summer. First and only time ever got sick over a god awful smell.
