    Rear tail lights

    Need to know how to buff out swirl marls and fine scratches. I have a PC and have not had mubh luck. Please make some recommondations on pads to use and polishing material.
    Only 34K miles and still counting (that's from Sept '97)

    Use a foam pad and this 3M Perfect-It Foam Polishing Pad Glaze. this will make it easier to polish your tail light. Also this glaze is good for swirl marks.

    if your having a hard time removing them, then do this:

    wet sand with 2000 grit(dont be afraid, really get in there), this should remove all fine scratching and leave the plastic hazy, you can then use the 3m plastic polish or 3m rubbing compound(i do this by hand). then apply a nice wax.

    they should look brand new after this if done properly.

    If you have a PC, you can get a 5.5" pads, or better yet, get a 3.5" backing plate and 4" pads for more leverage after you've wet sanded the area. Buffing alone would hardly do anithing on fine scratches...
