Porsche 914-6
I detailed this Porsche last month. (Dang, I have like 18 cars I've done I haven't had a chance to upload the pics and post here )
This one looked ok, but I was kind of alarmed once I started to clay bar it. I washed it good, and I still was blown away by the amount of crap this car had on the finish...
Mt guess is that it has never been polished
The paint is a single stage paint (no clear-coat)
-Wash
-Clay bar (Zaino)
-Polished with Menzerna SIP
-Followed up with BF Gloss Enhancer
-Topped with BF Wet Diamond Sealant
-Duragloss 101 on the wheels
-1Z Rubber and Vinyl treatment on the tires
Before:
BTW, this before pics were before clay bar. Looks can be deceiveing!)
A look at the clay bar after using one side. Yikes!

Nice and shiney! But IMO that is one of the most ugly Porche's I've ever seen.. To each their own though.....

The guy is a car collector. More specific he's big time into Porsches
Did you see the collection he has?
There's a blue one that was actually driven in 1973 by Allison, I think it was Bobby Allison in an IROC race
It's the blue one in the middle...still has the Allison name on the white banner across the top of the windshield

I used to own a 914-4 cyl. (I restored it in high school in '96). Not the prettiest cars, but they handle like you wouldn't believe! The 6 cyl cars were known to break flywheel bolts, and supposedly they were out performing the 911/912, which was supposed to be Porsche's top-of-the-line. Sticker price was around $3,000 if I remember correctly. I'm envious of his collection...
Thanks, Goose! This really takes me back. Do you remember the year? Was the black Targa top in good condition?Last edited by TexasLS1; 10-08-2009 at 11:08 PM.
