PlastX other uses
Ok so this girl I know has an 01 GT, and shes hot as fuck, so I try to suck up a little, not gonna lie.
Well her headlights are pretty foggy....about the avg of what you see on an f-body....def seen worse....but hers are far from pretty...so I offered to polish them up for her.
my other question is....her hood scoop is plastic, and appears to be oxidized, its hazy and a lighter color blue than the rest of the car.....do yall think the plastx could shine up her hood scoop any?

But yeah, itll def be hooked up to my drill using the attachment that was sent with the kit.

Nice...
And don't suck up, that ain't gonna get you anywhere. Women don't like that, unless they're just looking for a sucker to use.
Chances are you're already in the friend zone anyway, so good luck coming back from that!

You should be fine. The PlastX should remove the oxidation.

Sorry man, someone had to say it. Trust me, I've been there myself, and more than once.

Lets keep this to a technical discussion, since this is a tech area and not AAG please.

I would be careful using headlight polish on paint. That's why they make rubbing comounds, swirl removers and glazes to remove paint oxidation.
Never tried it myself ity may work great or turnout bad.I know you can use 3m compound to polish headlight after wetsanding them. I usually wet sand and clear the if their bad or buf them if it's light1998 Trans Am 85k miles.

good point....ill have to look at the plastx box again....but i'm pretty sure it doesnt say its just for headlights....thats just the most common use
and the thing about the hood scoop, is that its not painted...its molded plastic...so id assume its the same process as headlight haze

If the scoop is not painted as you've already said, you should be fine. Trust me...
The PlastX is designed for clear plastic, motorcycle fairings and any molded plastic.
Its composition is similar to the paint polish technology used in Meguiars paint polish products.
It's not abrasive at all, it's designed to clean and polish.
I've used it to polish black side mirrors on import cars that are usually unpainted but oxidize easily...

TRIPLE BLACK- 2000 CAMARO SS M6 #2100
Are you sure it isnt painted and its not just that the clear coat that is oxidized? The reason I ask is because my wife used to own a 2001 mustang GT and her scoop was definitely painted. Be careful because if you screw up her car worse you will be out of the friend zone and in the “fu*kin guy who screwed up my car” zone, lol.
