    Paint Issues

Well i had my top painted on my 01 Z28. Well they called me from there a couple of times telling me no matter how many times they've stripped the paint and repainted it, it keeps bubbling. They even sanded some of the fiberglass down and did the re spray again. I got the car and now its bubbling again.

They told me whoever painted it prior used a paint remover and you cant use that for fiberglass because it will soak into it and hard to get it. There telling me this is why there having soo many problems. Is there a certain treatment or method i can suggest to them to use, i say this because they havent figured out a way to get around it. By the way this shop is highly recommended and from what ive seen does very good work. We use this shop at our dealer for most of our cars and customer cars.

The paint remover, are those a base or an acid?

I would to try and level out the pH with the counterpart (whatever is opposite) to the paint remover. The part thats hard is you dont know how much to add, b/c if you were to add too much, it could have the same results, if not worse. Also, it may have to sit on there for a while.

Do you know who did the work previously?

Yep.... It is a Factory Defect. You will need to have the Entire Roof replaced.
