That is what i originally wanted to do but i hear it is very hard to match the other parts( i cant afford a whole new paint job).
I think i am going to take my time with it while it is stored through the winter and if all fails ill just get it painted when i can.
Ill start with the mirrors and if anyone is interested ill do some before and after shots.

I'm going to be working some chips on a Porsche Carrera S in two weeks.
I've already buffed it.
The owner of the car had a touch-up paint and another vial of clearcoat that came as a kit from the dealer.
That's what I'm going to be using.
It's better if you have clearcoat available. Just use less paint, just enough to coat the chip, let it dry and then fill up the rest with the clearcoat. It gives you a much better match with the rest of the paint...
Of course, this is with the understanding you'd be doing some wetsanding and buffing...Last edited by Z06-Goose; 10-24-2010 at 05:53 AM.

Only way to fix.a.chip right is to.respray the panel. Otherwise go to a paint store with your car and ask them to match it for you that crap in a bottle is genesis their are several variations of every color except black that is the one color that you can make chips and scratches actually vanish if done right. I have painted panels on red fbodys it's actually a easy.color to match at the paint store. Remember paint sprayed on will always be different than what you can do with a touch up brush but if they mix you.a.good match it will be harder to notice. But like it has already been said you will need a touch up bottle of clear and.have to.do some wet standing and buffing to.get a decent finish.
