Old tree sap tips?
I have white raindrop size tree sap thats been on my car since the fall from the pine trees out front. usually by summer they wash away, but this year i have a good amount left but im getting ready to sell the car so obviously its time for a clean up! ive washed it a few times but we havent gotten any good rain periods yet, to early in the season here... anyone have any tips on how to get it off? took it trhough the car wash but nothin changed, used some qtips with that goo-gone citrus cleaner but that only got the globbed up parts off, it doesnt seem to do well on whats really close to the finish i guess...

Black- 2002 Camaro SS SLP
I had something like this before,
You might call me crazy, but it worked. Done on a black ss.
I wased the area with dawn, with a soft 100% cotten cloth. Then i got a new 100% cotten cloth and put a little bit of lighter fluid on it. WIth that scubed the area. Then as fast as i could washed it off again with dawn.
Clayed the area. Washed again with dawn. Used the normal car wash stuff i use. Hit the area, and surrounding area with some good old cleaner wax, and finshed off with some Paste wax. Looked good REALLY GOOD!
Now this worked for me. I have no idea what it could do to a clear coat or paint. So dont blame me if it does something to your own car.2002 Camaro SS A4 - SLP# 2951 l MS4 l LT's w/ORY l F.A.S.T 78 & TB l Borla l Cutout l CME l TCI 3500 l 3.23's l !emissions l !sway

Red Jewell Tintcoat- 2008 Grand Prix GXP
2 things.
1. 3M adhesive remover OR,
2. Use a Meguiar's or Turtle wax bug remover.
That should do the trick.

I have used dryer sheets, just stick them in the soapy water and it wipes away sap, rubber, bird crap, and just about anything else you don't want on your paint (but leaves no scratches).

I used WD-40 and a micro fiber to get the sticky stuff from the emblems off. The 3m sounds like it may be a little better.

2001 3.8 Black - sold- 2000 SS Black M6
you must have some hardcore sap....i live in east texas, its covered in pines, but i make sure to never park near them.
i have a small oak that gets some sap on mine in the fall, its tiny drops so it blows in the wind, i cant seem to get away from it, all my neighbors have the same trees. But i good scrubbing during a regular wash always gets mine off

There are some huge pine trees at my beach house, right where I park. One time I forgot to put my car cover on, and found half-dollar sized globs of sap with pine needles stuck in it all over my hood. I grabbed a can of Axe from my glove box, gave it a good soaking, and it came off like butter, literally.
