    New 3M Product

Recently I've seen a TV ad for new 3M product. You spray it on the exterior of your car and leaves a film which looks like you can actually peel off. I was thinking about trying it for the front of my car to help protect against bugs. Wondering if anyone has tried it.

It sounds like a protective coating that acts like a clear bra. What is it called and is it on the market yet ?

I think it's called Defender. According to the commercial it even protects against falling meteorites! Yeah it looks like some kind of spray on clear bra.

I saw the same commercial...it acts like a clear plastidip. You do a strip or two of masking tape and then spray the area you want protected.

I belong to another forum where this has come up. The overall consensus is negative.

The two biggest points I noticed were it turns yellow and isn't easily removed.

But you might have different results.
