I used Eastwood's Spray Gray on ours -- tried to keep it similar to the factory hue:

Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
They were not painted from the factory.
Just metal.
You can paint them, polish them, or powdercoat them.
I am thinking about taking mine apart this winter and having them powdercoated.

I generally try to keep it close as well too. I did my LQ1 in red because I've got a red factory pin stripe over a silver 1"-ish factory stripe.. I also thought about doing a casting grey color too. In the end the custom candy color won out over the others tho.. Those calipers look good too by the way.

Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
Ive thought about that, a lot of my engine bay parts are candy apple red and it goes well with pewter. I have also thought black chrome. Its not a priority right now, probably won't do it anytime soon, I have been sitting on the calipers for 3 years now, so it really doesn't matter anyways

Thanks! For me, there was no other color option even considered. Probably have put 2,500 miles on the car since painting them and they still look great.

lol sounds like me as well.. Got new engine parts everywhere for the z34, and the 3800.. I even painted some of them and, well, that's as far as I got.. My plate runneth over.. Between my little one, work, houses, shops, being married.. lol sometimes I'm like, on where to get started or get shtuff done..ugh.. My six month built is now comming up on 2 years
I'll be doing brakes/tires on the 01 soon, since my auto-x tires are now nearly treadless.. Prolly do my calipers and the hats on the rotors too. I replace rotors when I do brakes as a personal rule.. I guess it could'nt hurt to throw some color @ them too this time.. Prolly run new soft lines out too. May go braided stainless or something. Not sure tho because that build is comming up soon too.. lolLast edited by Smittro; 08-30-2010 at 03:45 PM.
