    Dripping Red 2011 ZR1 detail = WIN

You guys have seen a good amount of ZR1's from me, that I've had the pleasure of working on... This one was special. Red Corvettes are classic Americana, and I had yet to do or SEE a red ZR1 (C6 generation of course). So when I got the call for this one, I was pretty excited to do it. This one was sold before it ever reached the dealer. It was to be shipped to southern California and then be sent out of the country, to the kind of place where driving a 638 horsepower Corvette is an epic drive and a rare sight.

    Process for this car:

-Citrus based degreaser to cut previous wax off
    -wash with Optimum No Rinse
-Clayed with Zaino Z18 claybar with ONR as clay lube
    -Vacuumed and quick interior cleanup
-Windows with Stoner's Invisible Glass and Cobra glass MF towels
-Tires dressed with Zaino Z16 Tire Shine
-LSP was Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant

It had already been prepped by another dealer, so the previous wax had to be stripped off first. But it was relatively clean when I started. It also had some swirls and waterspots from the wash jockey who originally prepped it, but unfortunately no correction was requested for this car.

    When I arrived....

After stripping the old wax, washing, claying.... here it is with the Blackfire Wet Diamond curing on the surface. It was applied safely with a brand new Lake Country Gold Kompressor pad on the PCXP. The Lake Country Gold foam pad is the softest pad I've ever come across. VERY good for applying sealants.

The special and pricey clear coat on the Carbon Fiber roof and ground effects gets the same treatment as the rest of the car.

This beast showed up while I was working, so thought I'd get a pic

    Back to the ZR1 goodness....

*The sun was setting before I was done, so I took some pics before everything was finished. You can see some tire dressing and dirt spotting on inner fender wells. Wanted to get sun pics before it was too late. These spots were cleaned up later. Wouldn't have had those oily spots if the wash jockey hadn't slathered on the tire dressing with a dripping paint brush *shakes head*)

    My favorite pic!

Thanks for looking! Hope you enjoyed it.

BAH! Really it takes like 2 hours, but you're like me and you just can't bring yourself to stop working on the badass cars-you take your time to make sure every nook and crevace is perfectly groomed, the trim coating perfectly even and not a single wipe mark is left.

Yup! No rush jobs here. Still, 4 hours is pretty quick, but then again it was not a correction detail either.
