convertible tps

what do the guys with convertible tops use to clean, condition, and protect their tops?

i've got customers that are starting to come in asking these questions and looking for a product but i can't give them any real good answers since i've never had a convertible (at least one that i cleaned the top on).

Wolfsteins (I think) Ragg Topp Cleaner and Protectant.

Aerospace303 makes some good stuff as well, a cleaner and a protectant.

how about the stuff that you can find at your local autozone...what products would you recommend from their aisles.

well... Autozone lists a

Blue Magic / 16 oz. Convertible Top Brightener, Protectant and Cleaner

I've not used it, but I'm not a fan of the all-in-one type products as they are never as effective.

I tried most of the ones listed above when I had my vert. The best one is the Raggtopp without question. Its pricey though. I actually have quite a bit of the Raggtopp stuff left over, both pretty full cans if you are interested in buying them, I would make you a good deal on it.

no i'm not interested in making a purchase. i don't have a convertible anymore.

confession...i work at autozone and like i say...we have customers coming in all summer long that are looking for products to clean and protect their convertible tops and we aren't sure what product to point them towards.

we usually tell them that we don't have a specific product for it but that if it's a vinyl top that some of the vinyl protectant products could work for them. i'm just looking to get some better answers on products so i can point customers in the right direction.

I just read too much into your initial post, sorry man. I would seriously recommend people towards the Raggtopp when they ask. I am about as anal as it gets, and it always made my top look new again.

Autozone really doesn't carry crap for convertibles. The "stuff" they do carry wouldn't touch my top with a 10ft pole.

Raggtop cleaner and protectant FTW (just make sure you tape off your car before you use the protectant...overspray is a b*tch with this stuff.
