    Carpet Cleaner

I'm looking to clean my carpets every once in a while with a good carpet cleaner. What do you recommend?

the BEST job i have ever done on a car was on my fiancee's last car... a 94 gp that i don't think was EVER washed or cleaned inside... i used stuff called orange blast... i mixed it in a bucket of hot water and used a stiff brush to work the mix in to the carpet.. for heavy stains i sprayed the orange blast directly on the stain and brushed... once it was done it was very wet but i used my shop vac to suck all the water out then i cracked the windows and left the car running with the heat on 100% for about 1/2 hour and it was perfect! looked like new and this was a TAN carpet. smelled like oranges for about 3 weeks but after that it sorta had a clean smell.

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

there is a solvent called "tough stuff" that comes in a bright yellow can-sold at any car store. If you're just doing spot removal-it will be great and it comes with a brush. But the whole carpet? you might wanna rent a real carpet vac from a grocery store

303 products have always been a top seller and always highly recommended. http://www.glimmerglassdetailing.com/303products.html
Locally, prestone carpet cleaner is pretty decent.
For use w/ an extractor, I prefer prochem.

+1 on Tuff Stuff- its sold at Wal*Mart and cost about $3.00. I have used it over 12 years with excellent results. It smells pretty good as well and it has never discolored any carpet or velour seats in my vehicles.

I have a small Steam Carpet Cleaner I use on the carpet in my house...it uses regular dish soap and self made hot water...works like a charm.
