Some compound and a machine buffer in the hands of a professional will do the trick. All my friends are professional detailers at a reputable shop, I've seen miracles.

if i were you i would bring the car to a reputable detail shop first and have them take care of the problem then ask them what they used on it and if you could possibly get it yourself. I almost garuntee that they dont use a generic meguires or mothers polish and that they use a product from there chemical representitive. I have had numerous black cars in my shop and you would be surprised at what a good buff and wax will do for a black car. to keep my car looking new i machine polish it every other week and wax it whenever i wash it. Blacks a pain in the ass but it looks the best when cleaned right. here are a few pics of my car!!

Amen to that, my friends black 96'Z looks awsome once you put some work into it. He uses a meguires 3step and it looks fine. I use the 3 step on my 97 Red SS, different color/different story. Its much easier to make look swirless.

    honestly dude check it out

THose machine buffers and electric buffers are what make the swirl marks. They are tiny scratches caused by the machines. Brushes at car washes are very notorious for leaving them as well. IMO the absorber drying towel sux too, dont use it; it scratches the car! All those "miracle workers" do is take a big chunk of your change and HIDE the swirl marks.YEAH BEEN THERE DONE THAT! Over $100! Ridiculous right. I've also used Zymol cleaner wax. I'll have to say it has worked the best so far; I did it by hand with a polishing cloth. I recently picked up some 3M PERFECT-IT III Machine Glaze. My friends brother has a paint shop and thats what he uses for black cars to REMOVE swirl marks as it is non-filling (it wont hide em). I am about to buff my car with it and Ill tell you how it works. My sugg. would be to get some of it and hand buff your car using a back and forth motion !not circular! After you polish it out, put a good coat of good wax on it and only wash it with a soft sponge from then on....No car wash. Only use a soft cloth specified for drying cars to dry if necessary, but with your wax being on there, a good spot free rinse should suffice. Until next time...GOOD LUCK!

I use 3M Swirl Remover first, then Klasse' All-In-Wonder. A good random orbit polisher works wonders and will save you a lot of labor, but polishers and buffers get a bad rap because usually the pads are dirty and loaded up with crap and residue. Change the pads frequently and don't get them loaded up and you shouldn't have any problems. Remember, any junk in the pad will just reswirl your finish.

I use 3M swirl remover (for dark cars, not sure of P/N) with rotary buffer and a foam polishing pad. Next, Zaino Fusion by hand. Use front to back buffing on top surfaces and up to down on side panels. Takes out all holograms left by buffer. Then use 3 coats of Zaino Z5 and your black will look crystal clear in any light at any angle. Invest in a leaf blower for drying after you wash and your paint will remain perfect.

You can also check out autopia-carcare.com. Lots of information there but its all good info.

You said you get a lot of swirl marks when you wash. Well after you get all those swirl marks out you might want to research methods for washing your car to minimize swirls. Its a little more work but once you have all the right stuff, you'll cut back a lot on the swirls you make from washing.

That will not remove scratches, or swirls. It may hide them, but will NOT remove them.
