Anybody ever try Rustoleum to paint calipers ?

    http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=150

Its a oil based protective enamel paint. It says dont paint anything above 200 degrees, but @ $8 a quart that would last a long time. I might try this stuff.

    Stick with VHT caliper paint.

And on a black car like yours, I recommend their black caliper paint.

Dan actually just did his that way.
Bracket is black (if I remember right) and the caliper itself is red.
Of course, that is a silver car.

Black brackets and black calipers on my car.
Black is tough. Any other color tends to distract from the black.

Do all black and avoid the Rustoleum Randy. As an alternative to black, you might do the caliper in black and the bracket polished. It would give it a touch of accent and not be too distracting. Just something to consider.

    Very nice!!

I am actually thinking about changing my calipers.
Bracket a slightly 'darker than normal' grey, and caliper itself in black.

I just can't see adding a color like red to my car. Would stick out like a sore thumb in my opinion.

I knida like how the red sticks out. But dont wont to distract from the looks of the wheels

No negs, I am just 99% sure it won't hold up near as well as the VHT and you will be redoing your work time after time and eventually stripping them down to do it the proper way.

I thought about stripping them down they are hid behind the wheels so if its not perfect nobody will know but me. If I still went to car shows I might care, but going to them got kinda boring

ive always used duplicolor engine enamel (or exhaust enamel) on all my calipers/drums. . . 4 bucks a can! its claims up to 500 degrees and the exhaust enamels claims up to 1500 degrees. and i agree with luos go with black or maybe a gray.

I think red would blend in great with your red paint. I looked at lots of pics and decided the red/black looked better than one solid color. It goes good with my red ss emblems on my wheels/fenders

I used gloss black Rustoleum on my calipers about 4 years ago and they still look fine. Every spring I clean them up good and check to see if any touch up is needed, but I have had no complaints.
