Another n00b Claybar question
Ok...i finally gave in and got a claybar....and since this hurricane has been pounding on us ive been in the garage claybaring the car.....
Well I dont see much improvement...and iw as muscleing the shit out of it....
Mayb its just the low light in the garage i dont know....
But i was using allot of the quick detailer as lube....
Mayb too much lube?
Isnt claybars suposed to get rid of all the swirls?

Sorry bud but a clay bar is for removing above surface contaminants environmental contaminants and more and restoring a smooth surface making waxing easier and more durable

You shouldnt muscle anything onto your paint, including wax, clay bar, buffing and so on. To much pressure will end up damaging the paint.

These guys have you on the right track Frank. The best way to tell how successful your claybar worked is to take a Ziploc baggy and put your hand inside it and rub across the paint before and after the claybar. You should feel a significant difference afterwards, with the feel being much smoother.

If you are experienced with a buffer, you will get better results with a buffer than a hand wax.
