Write up: Push Button Start

Ok so here is how i installed my push button start system over 2 years ago. It is still working great with no problems. You are going to need a few things. I used to have this saved on my hard drive but i dont know what happened to it. So i found my paper copy and took pics of it so it might not be the best quality but you get the point. If you have any questions please let me know.


Install time: About an hour, unless your like me and mix drinking with working on your car. It took me about 1 1/2 hours.

parts list

1.)Honda S2000 Push start button- you can get this from any honda dealer but it is cheaper online. Honda part number 35881-S2A-911

2.) A couple of feet of small gauge wire (different colors) from any auto parts store

3.) 4 prong 12V relay from local auto parts store. (see diagram) relay should have numbers 30,85,86,87

4.) floppy drive power cable, if you have an old computer or a new one and dont use this you can cut it out. you can also find them online if you dont wanna hack up your PC. but really who uses floppy disks anymore???

5.) A bunch of wire connectors, plus a few tap-in spade connectors

Tools

1.) Dremel ( I know this sounds scary )

2.) Wire cutters and crimps

3.) Screw drivers (1 of each)

To use this system you still have to put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position. This switch also does not turn the car off, you use the key for that as well
