would I need a new amp?
I went to Best Buy and found a nice Alpine head unit for $200. The guy at the store said I might need to buy a new amp if I take out my stock Monsoon unit. and I would have to spend $100 more for the module to make my steering wheel controls work with the new head unit. Can anyone help me out with this??? If I would have to buy all that stuff I might just get the ipod module that hooks up to the back of the stock monsoon and just keep the one I have.

You won't need a new amp. You will need a module to use the steering wheel controls.

Red- 98 T/A M6 w/lid and LM1
personally, I say get the ipod module. I like having the equalizer easy to mess with. spend the extra money on better speakers or something.
