wires crossed????

Hi,
I'm new to the site. I would like to say hello and thank you.
I have a slight problem with my car. My ex put a pioneer stereo in my RS for me, and now when I push the lock button on the keyless remote the alarm goes off. The horn won't quit honking. He said it wasn't anything he did but....... it was working b4 he put the new one in. Any Suggestions on what might have happened and what we can do to fix it????

what year car is it? it sounds like the illumination wire is possibly grounding out, or touching something else.

you will have to pull the radio out to see the wiring. once it is out you can check what wires go where, or if anything is loose. was the original harness cut?

I got in from work late last night when read your reply I decided to go out and look at my stereo myself. (what could it hurt, right? A woman, couple of lil tools, electrical tape, a stereo and LOTS of wires.) Anyway I pulled the stereo out, found a wire with a naked spot in it, taped it, looked for more, put it back in and it works like it's suppose to. Thanks Man, I really appreciate it.
