I have a 2 pod piece with a fuel pressure and air-fuel gauge. It was not difficult at all to install and the wire runs into the pillar were very easy. I did run the wires through the driver side firewall in lieu of behind the PCM as this created a much shorter run. There is a thread on doing this if you want to look at it. What gauges are you installing?

The holes come out on the left side of the footwell, just below a box of some sort that is tucked up under the dash. Don't allow the drill bit to go very far when it breaks through the firewall.

I also went with red -- my air-fuel gauge is the digital Innovate and my fuel pressure is a digital AutoMeter.

Nice where did you get the grommet from or is it just a paste?

Just a standard rubber grommet -- you can get them at hardware stores, Lowe's, and possibly Radio Shack.
