Is there a backlight behind HVAC controls in a 2001 Z28?

I can't remember if the HVAC controls were ever backlit or not. If they are supposed to be lit, mine out. Is the bulb easy to get to?

you have to remove the trim piece around the radio/ac controls. Then remove the bolts holding the ac controls. I can't remember if the light bulb is integrated in the panel or if they are removable.

Replaced the bulbs today. There were two little ones that plug into the HVAC console, guess both had burned out. Here's a little step by step I did replace them:

As mentioned, to get to the back of the HVAC console, the face panel trim needs to be pulled off and set aside.

The console is fastened to the dash with the the same type of 7mm hex screws that holds the radio in place. The two bulbs twist into to the top-middle of the console. A quarter turn clockwise (from user's perspective, it's counter-clockwise from the direction the bulb faces) is enough to pull the bulb housing out.

The replacements are about $5.50 at the auto parts store. I can't figure out how to remove the burned out bulbs without breaking them. There's no way to get a grip with your fingers, and pliers eventually lead to breakage. I ended up breaking both with a pair of needle nose pliers and pulled the bottom of the bulb out by the wires. New bulbs snap into place with a little bit of force.

Now I'll be able to select my heat/air setting by sight rather than memory.

Careful doing the one beneath the shifter indicator. About a year ago I broke the door to my ash tray taking that piece off.
