TA monsoon trunk speakers
So I went to my local car audio store and asked about installing some 6 x 9s I had in the hatch area of my car.
I recently had to replace those panels in the trunk where the speakers/spare tire are, since one of the previous owners cut out the space for the speakers to mount onto.
When I brought the car in, they said those speakers are 5 1/2 inch components and 6 x 9s won't go back there. Is this true, or do I just need to find myself some smarter installers?

The hatch area speakers in a Camaro consist of a 4" mid only. A Firebird adds a .5" dome tweeter along with the 4" mid driver.
Mounting a speaker as large as a 6x9 to a flimsy piece of plastic is a real BAD idea. Have you ever seen a home stereo speaker use thin plastic for an enclosure before?
