    Stupid Blinker....

My front driver side blinker/running light went out...no big deal right?...I popped the panel underneath it and replaced the bulb yesterday. The problem is that the blinker is still solid and will not flash when I throw the blinker on. The bulb works fine as a running light...its on when it is supposed to be, it just wont flash when I turn on the blinker. I checked all the other bulbs and they are fine. Any ideas on how to get the car to realize that I put a new bulb in so it will stop doing the solid arrow thing?

and yes...i checked the blinker fluid...

Sounds like the connections in your socket may be corroded if all your tail light bulbs are good. Was it rusty?

not really...moisture was in the housing but no the actual socket, which is pretty common...i'll pull it back apart tonight, blow out the socket itself, clean it out, put some grease in it and see how it goes...i've been reading a lot about that.

Fixed the issue for good last night "I hope..." Pulled the panel back out, pulled the new bulb out...sprayed some q-tips down with WD40 and cleaned out the connections in the socket. I was surprised how dirty it was...I dried the socket out and coated the bottom of the bulb in dielectric grease. Reinstalled the bulb and tada...it works.

Very common prob on the TA's. The front running light/ turn signal bulbs always get corroded up. Make sure you clean the contacts up on the bulb socket and then fill w grease.
