..just so you know...it sounds like your just replacing the headunit w/ a decent deck, nothing else, if thats the case your gonna pay more for an adapter than what u do 4 your new deck, even then sometimes the adapters dont work 100% of the time.....unless ur like me and just dont want non-functioning buttons on ur steering wheel....crutchfield sells a nice adapter

did you install it or did the shop do it? if you did, how difficult was it?

I did the install. It was supper easy for the steering controls. The kit comes with some kind of module that is connected to original controls from steering wheel with one wire and the other end goes to a port on the HU. You then program the module for which steering buttons you want to control what functions you want. I thought it would be a nightmare butt ended up being simple. I had someone else fabricate the bezel.

Navy Blue Metallic- 2000 T/A Firehawk M6
I have a pioneer deck and Peripheral Electronics sells an adapter for pioneer to monsoon that works like a charm. i've retained function of every button on my wheel. i think the one I needed was Swi-ps. They didn't have a wiring diagram that worked for my car. just try to find a similar car in their online manuals and you should be good. i think only one wire needed to connect for the interface.
All i know is my dashboard is a hornets nest of wires lol. i had to dremel the support in the back of the dash opening to fit all this stuff back there. wires for the ipod dock wires for the steering controls wires for the custom lighting etc etc.
