    Stealth Box sub

Hey all. I was just wondering if anyone has had experience using the Pioneer TS-SW1041D 10" sub in their stealth box. I've read that the MTX ThunderForm sounds good, and of course the JL combo has got to sound amazing, but if the Pioneer sounds just as good as the MTX and cost less, then it's worth it.

Then there's also the amplified MTX ThunderForm. Kill two birds with one stone. Anyone using that setup?

Just make sure the depth of the speaker will work with the stealth box. That box is really shallow.

I believe speakers also list how much extra space the box should have. Without the right amount of air, they won't sound nearly as good...

It's a super shallow sub. The box on the same site I found the speaker on is listed as having 0.4 cubic feet and the speaker is listed as needing 0.35 - 0.7. I don't know much about subs to just look at numbers and say, "oh that'll work." Combos I'm sure are the safer way to go, but it saves $100 I can put into the amp if I go the Pioneer route.

How much does it cost? There is a website called subthump.com and the have a powered stealthbox for under $300. I know it sounds to good to be true, but they have great reviews.

I am not trying to plug their site for the mods.

You can get the stealth box by itself for $100. I'm sure for less online.

Yeah, stealth box is about $100, and that particular sub is a little over $100. I'm thinking I'm gonna go with a powered unit, though. Makes life easier. Thanks for all the input guys.
