    Angry Scratchy Front Speakers

When i got my car, my front speakers had been replaced with cheap scosche speakers, and they were quite scratchy sounding when the music was at a decent volume. I just got Kenwoods, and replaced them, but it didnt help alot........they are 4ohm kens, http://www.crutchfield.com/S-KCm4H0V...113KFC1661#Tab those to be exact. I got 4" kenwoods for the back, and they sound fabulous and are also 4ohms.

the door speakers were scratchy WITH the monsoon stock radio AND my new pioneer $350 DEH-7800 headunit ......you guys have any idea what might be wrong??

The only time I've ever heard scratchy noise from a speaker was because the voice coil was scraping inside the speaker. This was an old set of Polk speakers that were in my wife's car. When I pulled it I could see just by looking at it that the magnet assembly was off ceneter. The speaker would only make the scratchy sound when the volume was turned up. Since my wife rarely, if ever, turned up the volume loud enough to cause the noise she never noticed it. I had to take her car to work one night and that's how I found out about it. Even though the speakers were out of warranty Polk replaced them at no cost since it was obviously a manufacturing defect.
