    Removing viper alarm?

I bought my t/a used and it came with a viper alarm (which model I have no clue). Anyway, it doesn't unlock the doors when it's deactivated by the remote so it's basically usless because the factory alarm still activates when I lock my doors and I don't have the factory remote to unlock the doors and deactive the stock alarm (and I have to use the key every time). This is a pain 'cause if I don't get the key in the ignition in 6 seconds the horns starts blowing and all that crap. SO...... My question is, How does one go about removing the viper alarm without screwing up the factory alarm. I assume after that I can just get a new keyless remote from GM and program it.

BTW - the viper remote is a POS!!! It only works very close at just the right locations, and that was with a brand new battery in the remote!

    Anyhelp is appreciated. Thanks.

Find the Viper's "brain" and pull the fuse.

What does it look like... What size about... Any common locations? Also, is very difficult to physically remove the entire system?

The "brain" is typically a black box about an inch or so thick and about the size of a paperback book. It's usually tucked under the dash somewhere above the pedals. At least that's the most common place they're mounted. I would just pull the brain. It'll probably be a PITA the remove all the wiring.
