remove door speaker through grille opening

If I get the speaker grille off (I realize I will have to cut off the top and bottom tabs of grille to do this) can I remove and replace the speaker through this opening?

I attempted to take the door panel off Sunday but ran out of patience!!!
I read the instructions on this site to remove the door panel but my lack of patience got to me!!!

    Thanks,
    Eddie

The door panel comes off very easily, remove all screws and push up on the panel, this frees up the clips attached to the panel, once the panel is loose you can move it out of the way and remove the speaker, I did mine in less than a hour. good luck finding re placement speakers I got mine off e-bay from a place in LA, 85.00 free shipping they only have a few pairs left. Infinity 62.7i is what you need.

If you do get the grill off it won't stay back on. There are tabs that are melted to hold it on. I don't know if you can get replacement grills either.

alll you have to do is take the door panel off and it should be like 8mm screws and just unbolt them and take the speakers out and put the new one in

don't break it lookin' for an easier way!! You'll be much more frustrated when your ridin' around with a busted door panel! had mine off lots of times--once you figure it out its not bad. when you try again, post up when you get stuck and we'll help ya out! screws around the edge are easy, pop out switch panel and unscrew the panel behind the door handle (inside). there is a screw that becomes visible after removing switch panel, and there is one hidden up underneath the solid hand-grip part of the door panel--look under it and you'll see the hole--stick a phillips head up there and you'll find a screw. then push up on the entire panel to free the clips. the hardest part is getting all those clips pushed back in right when putting it back on--be patient--doing it right is worth the time.

I always thought the hardest part was getting the plastic piece off the sliding lock mechanism...

that was the easiest part for me lol

as everyone else said, the door panel comes off pretty easily. There was a small writeup for when I did my window motor that showed all the clips and screws that needed to be removed, but I'm not sure where that was.

Try a google search for window motor replacement, I'm sure there are write ups out there with pictures and such.
