painting electronics
Since the Z28 is down to fix a broken transmission mount, I went ahead & pulled my amps out....JL 250/1 & 300/4....
...they are a few years old & have taken quite a bit of cosmetic abuse...just finished disassembling them, & I'm going to paint the bastards.
Gloss Black on the heat sinks & side rails & satin/flat black for the stainless/brushed covers......
just gonna cover up all the setting controls w/ paint...1) because they are tuned & set perfect & will never need adjusting & 2) I made stencils of whats what, just in case.
...only question I had was about the spray paint....I just picked up a few cans of DupliColor heat resistant paint from AutoZone, is this stuff good enough or is it gonna make a complete mess or break down quickly....

Custom Swirly Black- 2001 WS6 M6
The exhuast/motor paint? I think you would be fine with a regular type as well, your amp shouldnt be getting that hot that it would require 5000 degree paint, but I'm not sure..
Either way, good idea and post some before after pics.
