NBM- 2002 Trans Am WS6
ok, for all the people with amps in the trunk
ok, i've now been at this for 2months. how the hell do you guys get your power from the battery (or the aux battery connector) to the trunk? I can't find any space in the firewall that would let me run the cable (and be able to get to it from inside the cab) to run it along to the trunk. any info would be greatly appreciated.

If you pull out the computer on the passenger side at the firewall under the hood, there is a hard to reach harness that runs through right there and thats where I ran through.

Ive got mine where I can take it out in 5 min. but it is a small gauge power wire. I ran it up the fender, in threw the door beside the glove box plastic, then beside the passenger seat to the amp. All you see the the little bit by the door jam. But if you have a real thick power wire it wont work that way.

On the passenger side, below the pcm, wich is a bitch to get back in btw, there is a grommet and hole in firewall, I just cut the grommet a little, doubled the wire over, stuck a solid wire through, tied the two together and pulled it through. Then I just got creative with routing it.

I also ran mine behind the pcm. I am running a 4 gauge wire for just one amp pushing my sub. After running it through the firewall it wasn't a hard run. Behind the carpet, then under the carpet after pulling up the door trim. Once you get it back to where it has go behind the rear panel, take a metal coat hanger and extend it all the way out, remove the panel covering the spare tire and run the coat hanger down into where the rear speaker is and pull the power wire (don't forget to run your turn-on wire from the head unit with it) through to where the spare tire is. Many places in there to zip tire the two wires out of the way. I have my amp mounted on an amp rack from sub thump so I just continued running it around the rear fender to the back of the hatch.
Hope this helps.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
i pushed the power wire along the hood line until it met the passenger door and went between the fender and door. It takes some shimmying, but once you get it through there you can run it underneath the floor trim/behind the B pilar paneling and into the hatch.
I like this method b/c there is no drilling or anything-just push and the wire isnt' exposed unless the door is open; even then you only see 2 inches of it

drilling isn't hard either...drilled near stearing column w/grommet to accomodate 4g wire. Completely hidden--just don't like the exposed wire w/door open--but maybe i'm too picky--I'm sure that way works great too!

that is pretty much what i ended up doing. I went to the Power/Battery accessory connector on the driver's side... in between the fender and the door, down to the rubber thing (the one where the cabling from cab to the door) moved it aside pushed my power cable thru, then replaced it back around it. following that, it's was all under the carpet until the amp in the trunk.

4 guage wire is one thing you do not run through the door jamb!

it's not in the door jam. i guess i will have to take pictures to show exactly what i meant.
- the cable is not being crimped at all, nor any chance that it will cut and arc on the chassis.

Oh, O.K., that works. Not to pretty, but it works. That is way more complicated and unnecessay that running it behind the Brain.

it isn't messy. you don't see it unless you keep looking for the cable.
and it wasn't all that complicated. it did save me from drilling, or bending my arm in unbendable ways to get thru the firewall.
