    Off means OFF!!

Just had a Viper keyless entry, alarm, remote start with iPhone program installed into my 99 TA. My question is......Is there any way so that when my autostart runs out the radio does NOT stay on? My radio draws ALOT of power, being that it is the Pioneer AVIC N2 navigation system.

I just want to know that I dont have to run out to the car if I get sidetracked to open a freakin door, to kill power. Kind of pointless to have the autostart and stuff then....haha

    TIA!!

If your thinkin' the radio will stay on forever if you don't open the door don't worry about it. The accessories will still eventually turn off if the ignition is off.. After so long without the engine running say 5min. everything should shut down inside. As long as you're wired to the hot wire from the factory setup..

Ps. Turn the radio off when you park that will help...

its an AVIC N2. It really is never OFF. It is a full fold out navigation unit, so its always on, I guess it could become a pain in the ass and I just pop off the face plate every time i get out of the car.

You would think there's a write up somewhere as this was done on most gm's post 2000. There's something in the door that severs the connection. Wonder if we can track it down.

Is the radio hooked up to the factory wiring and runs off the bcm? If so you can just find an empty slot in the fuse block that is on acc. Run a wire and fuse and hook that into the back of the radio and bypass the bcm.
