Need Rear Speakers What to go for

I recently purchased my 2000 T/Am and it is missing the 2 big speakers in the rear THe 2 small ones are there.
    My questions are.
1 Do i go with same sized or do i just put a bigger speaker in that more matches the speaker cover size.
    2 Who's speakers do i go with
3 will the hook strait up or wil i have to wire them in ( not afraid of doing i have friends that have installed full systems before.

    Thanks in advance!

So I'm guessing you still are using the stock deck then.......?
Also how much do you want to spend?
Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

I would stay with the same size that are already in there. It would be difficult to hook up a 6x9 since you would have to cut the panel in order for it to work. Also when you do replace your speakers, keep in mind that the factory speakers are 2ohm and thats what the factory amp puts out. 4ohms will work, they just will not be as clear, or loud.

Great point hadn't thought of the ohm difference.... anyone know off hand what size the stockers are/ it's the bigger of the two back there.

you mean the sail panels (in front of rear seats)? There's a sticky on those.

I've fairly certain he is talking about the ones in the back. Not the ones on the B-pillar.

Sorry to inform you but if the ohms on any amp are put at a higher load the power does go down as you stated BUT it will be more clear. The distortion rate goes down the higher the load NOT vice versa.

Sure if you're changing the ohms on the amp. Hooking up 4ohm speakers to a 2ohm amp will not change the amps load. It will still only put out 2ohms.

    WRONG!!

A amp only puts out what the load is of the speaker! A amp can't put out a 2ohm load to a 4ohm speaker.

Please learn what you are posting before you post on our board. You are soooo far off with you post it isn't funny!!

I have been doing car audio for 15 years now and have a extensive knowledge. If I didn't my shit would be burnt up. ALL my amps are from the early 90's and almost ALL will only run a 4ohm load bridged. So if you were right on your soooo incorrect statement a amp would be stuck at a certain load no matter what speaker is connected. Which is totally back wards. Just because my amps are only 4 ohm stable bridged I can wire in a pair of subs and give the amp a 2 ohm load. NOW THE AMP IS RUNNING AT 2 OHMS BRIDGED DUE TO THE SPEAKER WIRING AND VOICE COIL LOADS IT WILL BURN ITSELF UP TO OVERLOADING.

So please don't confuse the others with your FALSE statements.
