Need help building a system...
Alright... I know the basics of sound systems but I'm not to deep on the technical stuff such as power caps, when to get an extra battery, etc.. So here it goes..
This weekend I'm going to pick up an Infiniti G35 and I'm looking to drop a killer sound system into it. I've already picked out the subwoofers and they'll be Orion HCCA 10.4's or 10.2's.. Not sure which one, and if there is any difference?! The RMS on them 1500 with a peak of 3000 watts. So I'll be going with a matching Orion HCCA 5000 watt amplifier, which is a class D amplifier, unless you think I need more or less.
Now with this amount of power going through the car will I need an extra battery, power cap, high output alternator, etc?? Also a little help with the explination of "bridging" and if I'll need to do this.
I will also be replacing the head-unit with a JVC-KW-NX7000. The car comes with a Bose system, so I will do the component speakers last (All of this I can do on my own). If you have any recommendations of which ones to go with, please let me know.
It will all be installed professionally, so no worries there (and no NOT by BestBuy or any other chain like that... Rather by a reputable audio shop here in town, who will be making a custom enclosure for the subwoofers).
Here are the products if you want to take a look (all made in tinyurl to keep space usage to a minimum):
- Orion HCCA 10.2's: http://tinyurl.com/OrionHCCA10-2
- Orion HCCA 10.4's: http://tinyurl.com/OrionHCCA10-4
- Orion HCCA Amplifier: http://tinyurl.com/OrionHCCA-Amp
- JVC-KW-NX7000: http://tinyurl.com/JVC-KW-NX7000
Also if you could provide links to things you'll think I need such as power caps, batteries, and stuff like that, I'd appreciate it. Just trying to get an idea of what I need to save up.All help is greatly appreciated, I know I'm asking alot of questions, some of which are noobish, but I want this to be done right! I don't neccissarily need an explination of how to install, because I wont be doing it myself, just more or less the extras that I will need and why.
Thanks guys and gals,
Matt

I would always do this is your going to be doing as much work as you say you are. Increases performance and life of your equipment. I'm not sure what the AMP rating on the alternator is, but chances are with addition of a second battery, a stock alt. will struggle to keep up. The cap will keep your lights from dimming really nasty, that keeps you from looking like a ricer.

Sorry, power rating I meant.
I imagine if your not going too nuts, that alternator should keep up. My F-150 stock alternator kicked out something near that power and I never had to replace it with my setup. (2nd battery, 1 farad cap, 2x L7 12inchers, xbox, and two additional power inverters) 3+ years with it and never blew it.
The 2nd batt and cap madea huge difference in with my first system.
