Question Monsoon stereo sound goes in and out

Just like it says. The volume randomly goes up and down will driving. Its usually during an acceleration, stop, or turn. It seems like the high notes go away. Any ideas on what to check? I'd rather put my money into performance and appearance mods than a new HU.

Do you have the speed compensated volume turned on?

No. As far as I know, its not an option in 98. I went and checked all the connection and shook them while the stereo was on and couldn't get it to duplicate, but it seemed like it happens when I mess with the HU. Sometimes I can't switch from CD to radio using the HU and have to use the wheel controls.

mines been doing this lately....i thought it was because ive been listening to only burned cd's so i was gonna try it and see if it does it with a regular store bought cd....

but i got an entire aftermarket system waiting to go in in a couple days so im living with it untill then...

^ OK, my mistake. Didn't realize that feature wasn't on the birds.

    kinda sorta the same problem

Ok, I have almost the same problem, except my stereo actually loses power (causes the power antenna to go down when stereo goes off and up when it comes back on). a reall randome thing, worked just perfect for a week and then would go out every bump or so. It may be a short in the wiring, I just don't know where to start. I might just put in an aftermarket anyway.
