    Question Monsoon question

My car isn't equipped with a 6-disc changer, but today I took off the rear panel in the hatch on the driver's side and there was a large black adapter that went to nothing. Has anyone else seen this? Does that mean I could get a 6 disc changer and just plug it in and it would work?

Not sure what you mean by large black adaptor - but yeah, the wiring for the changer is there on my car and didn't come with it.

So any Delco/Delphi disc changer from a T/A or Camaro should plug right in?

I have heard from some people the wiring is there, just need the changer. I had a stock changer and sold it when I put a new hu with mp3 in. Not positive, but you could also look behind your hu at the wires and see if it has the wire there that is just not plugged in.

Car is pre-wired for the changer. I think it would have been a 12-disk changer though. Does your stock head unit have a tape deck or CD player? For 98's, I don't think the head unit with the CD player could control the disk changer. If it has a tape deck, then you would probably be able to plug-n-play.

It has a CD player but does have the hookup for the CD changer. I wonder if it would work still.

Take a look at post #2 in this thread.

I don't have any 1st-hand experience other than my 2000 Monsoon which had a CD player, and could control the 12-disk changer.

My 2000 has a tape player with an Aux button for the 12 disc CD in the runk... I have never used the tape player and really should find a OEM CD head unit...but the best music in the car is usually with the radio off...V8
