Monsoon digital display problems

The monsoon system on my 2000 TA has been having display problems during the summer months starting last summer. It is a daily driver and when I am at work and it is hot I leave the windows cracked a 1/2 inch or so and put a sunshade up on the windshield to keep the interior from getting too hot. When I get back in the car after work and turn the car on, the display on the stereo will sometimes have some of the digits missing, and sometimes it will be completely blank. This goes for the time display and the radio station call numbers also. After the car cools down, the digits all come back, and sometimes just turning the system off and on a couple times will do the trick. Is this something common for this system in hotter climates, or is it just crapping out on me?

Seems like it may just be failing over time, and the heat is aggrevating it. I know mine has done the same sort of thing. Actually, if I bang the dash, it can go in an out of full display. My CD player is going too.
