    Monsoon 6 Speaker

I'm totally confused. I have a Monsoon System. Is there such a thing as a two wire Monsoon system. I haven't confirmed my front speaker wiring but the two in the hatch and the rear panels are two wire. Are just the front 4 wire?

The hatch speakers, which I thought were 6x9 by the grill but they are small round 4ohm speakers.

The front speakers have had aftermarket Pioneer speakers installed and I can't verify that wiring but assuming it should be 4 wire based on what I've read??? They appear to be a "3-way" speaker. Midrange with with two smaller tweeters. All other speakers are stock. Assuming the Pioneers aren't a good call. They work with decent sound but not all that great.

What are my best options to use for door panel speakers / sail panel speakers / hatch speakers. One of my sail panel speakers sounded blown and then it quit all together.

I have no problem just making everything stock but I seen the suggestion for the Infinity 62.7I for the front's, which sounds like a good idea.

Not sure about the rest. Seen the newer GM OEM panel speakers on Ebay that supposedly handle more power for $45/eac.

Hatch panel speakers are working fine but I didn't know if they were succeptable to blowing like the door speakers and GM came out with a better model.

Thanks - this is a very informative forum.

i'm pressed for time but the short bits i can toss your way now look like this....

You have a Camaro so your sail panel subs, besides the rear seats, should only have 2 wires running to them. Only the Firebird has the dual coil 4 wire arrangement.

You do have an amp, look behind the spare tire. AFAIK there is no monsoon without the monsoon amp!

The rest of the speakers should only have 2 wires. In the camaro the fronts are coaxial units so those Pioneer 3 ways or whatever should function fine. Unlike the bird that has separate components. hope this helps some.

I found the amp, I thought it was attached to the tire cover instead of behind the spare tire. I understand the wiring now as I checked the front speaker system.

    Thanks for the info.
