How to connect sub/amp to factory HU

I see this asked a lot so here is how I did it.
On Aftermarket HU's you will not be able to use the antenna power due to the fact that it will not be hot during CD play. You will have to run a separate key hot wire or your HU may be wired for this feature already.

Agree with everything but the remote, your antenna isn't up when your playing a CD or listening to your ipod so the sub would shut off. This is going off of what i have seen on my friends firebird. I would use the ignition on from the radio.

My antenna goes up when ever the radio is on regardless if I'm on CD or not. Do you have a CD changer?

Correct, as far as I know they should all be like that.(unless there is a problem with the HU)

Any aftermarket deck will only turn the antenna on during radio play not cd or iPod. But this was for a hookup to a stock HU

I'll add a note for aftermarket HU's. I was not aware of this feature on aftermarket radio's. I actually wish the stock HU's were like that, it would make more sense.
