    help with cd player

well, I put a motley crue cd in my stereo of my 95 t/a, and it is now not ejecting. it makes this repetitive click click click sound, but doesnt let the cd out, so I try to play the cd, and now, it doesnt even do that.

btw, I have the option 10 speaker stereo, with the factory headunit. the one with the like 6 equalizer selectors on it.

how hard is it to put in a new head unit? I need a backing plate right? can I still use my steering wheel controls with the aftermarket headunit?

First I would try taking out the cd. Find the fuse and remove it for the radio. Then see if it ejects. If that doesnt work you need to slide something in the slot and give the cd a little nudge, sometimes this will eject it or start it playing. If you want a new headunit you need a harness adaptor, kit to hold the new radio and an antenna adaptor. You can use the steering wheel controls with a new radio, you just need another adaptor. Check to see if they make one for the stereo you choose first.

I got the cd to play, and eject. I am not gonna put in another and risk gettin stuck again.

I will save up, and buy my buddies used alpine headunit from him.

btw, where can I get a backing plate for it, since the new faceplate will be smaller?

any place that sells stereos. I have had problems with my truck on occasion doing the same thing. I would use it until I had a new stereo.
