Head Unit Doesn't "See" CD Changer
I recently posted a thread about a CD changer I picked up.
After some wrangling I got it work (2 of the trays had bent fingers. Straightened them and it functions normal mechanically.)
My problem now is that I can't access the changer from the head unit.
I disconnected the battery for an hour to see if it would find it when reconnected but no luck.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

The discs are loaded correctly, ie the labels are facing down with the read side facing up.

I have a CD in the first slot but I realized that I only have 11 slots.
The 12th tray is missing.
Could someone remove one tray from their cartridge and see if it does the same thing?

It's the same as only loading 11 of 12 trays. It makes no difference if all the trays are in at the same time. like someone else said:
You need a disc in slot 1.
And they are label face down from the factory.
If it's throwing codes, look up the code number and it will define your problem.

No codes are ever thrown.
It's as if the head unit doesn't even know it's installed.

It might not. You may need to schedule an appointment at your local stereo shop and have them diagnose the problem. If your savvy with electronics, though, you could probably trace the wires to see if there's a bad ground somewhere you can't see.

After trying everything I can think of, still no dice.
Anyone in the Atlanta/North GA area with a factory changer want to see if this unit works in your car so I can determine if it's the changer or my head unit?
I'll pay for your gas to meet somewhere.
Thanks!
