In a Camaro the hatch speaker is a 4" mid. Firebirds include a tweeter with the 4" speaker.

So my camaro has 6.5" mid front, 6.5" woofer middle, and 4" mid rear. Those damn magazines really confuse the shit outta ya when they tell you your car has 4 speakers and a 6.5" set of MTX mids will help ya out. So what about me doing this I already have MTX 6.5" in the front door,(i would like to say thanks to the assclown that designed the camaro doors and for making them impossible the work with), thought about just leaving rear seats empty or stock woofers, and put in new 4" in back, with sub. Subs of choice are probably JL Audio 12w7. Havent had subs in this car yet is it gonna rattle apart.

I would recommend a setup like what I've done. Components up front and a sub (or two) in back. NO rear speakers of any kind. I don't have any but I still get people that ask what kind of speakers I have in back. They're usually pretty amazed when I pop off the grills just to prove it to them.

I'm with White Rascal on this one. Put the money you would have spent on rear speakers into the best front components you can get. I got this advice from these boards, and I'm glad I listened. I went with MB Quarts up front and the sound is pristine. For a sub, I sorta cheaped out and bought a used JL stealthbox with a dual voice coil 10". I still have T Top storage, and the system kills.
