    Foglights

    I made a mistake the other day of ordering new foglights and I didn't read the entire description but the ones I ordered are 54w and the stock ones are only 37.5w... Will the 54w bulbs burn up my wires or cause any problems?

    Are you just replacing the bulbs? If so I would think that the wiring would be fine but the lens and housing might be in danger of melting. If it's a complete foglight replacement you're doing I doubt you will have a problem.

    Just the bulbs man... An electrician told me as long as a have a 9amp fuse and 14gauge wire I should be ok, but it doesn't sound right to me...

    OK, man

    This is the formula for calculating power...

    P = I x V

    P = Power in Watts
    I = Current in Amps
    V = Volts

    To calculate the current draw you use the following formula...

    P/V = I

    So if you plug in the values....

    37.5W / 12V = 3.12 Amps

    For the new bulbs it would be....

    54W / 12V = 4.5 amps

    Both are well within the fuse's 9 amp rating. Although I've never heard of a 9 amp fuse before.

    You still may melt the foglight lenses with the higher powered bulbs.
