    Elemental Design 3.6 Install Questions

Okay, so I got the 3.6's today. I bought the D4, knowing I could just wire them in parallel to get the 2 ohm's for the Camaro. I hook the first one up, and just for *uck's sake, I turn the radio on to compare to what was originally there. Here's the problem, I can barely hear the 3.6. The sad part of it is, is that the other speaker (installed by previous owner), is some jimmy rigged 5" Bose speaker. The Bose speaker sounds amazing compared to the 3.6. I tried every variation of wiring that there is. I even tried the other 3.6, thinking maybe the first was a bad speaker. Same thing on the second. Thinking I did something wrong, I hooked up the original Bose speaker, and it sounds just the same as the other. Oh, I have a non-monsoon system. I am getting a HU next week, but I want to figure out the speakers first. Any thoughts???

Anyone have any ideas? I have a multimeter, just don't know what I'm looking for.

Am I possibly just not getting any power to them? I don't think there is any amp in the car, other than the internal one in the head unit. When I replace the hu, that should help?

Yes. I'm done with these speakers. I just got the HU today, but I'll be putting the stockers back in for the time being until I get the Boston Acoutics next week.

I have the 7kv.2 I believe in my car, These are subwoofers and I don't think you will get any sound from them without an Amp. The radio is not strong enough to power the sub's.

Just an update for anyone that does a search later. I installed the new head unit today and the 3.6's sound really good. I'm still going to replace them because I'm looking for a more all around sound, and not just lows from the sails. I'm going to be installing a sub in the hatch, so I really need the clarity throughout.

Sub is the only signal that the Monsoon Amp sends to the sail panels. If you want an all around sound then you will have to do somthing else.
