I had one in my IROC. It was a decent unit. It would've been better with a full range of aftermarket speakers to go with it, including a sub. I think the problem was that I just bought stock size 6X9's for the sail panels and 4X6's for the dash. Don't get me wrong it sounded pretty good, I think I'm just too picky.

I had a Pioneer DEH-P77 in my 2001 Camro SS.
It was fabulous. Never a skip and always Pro sound reproduction.
With its infinite adjustments and pre outs you utilize the stock monsoon speakers as well any amp configuration esp. for an external subwoofer .. in my case a JL Audio 10w7.
I installed a steering wheel control adapter and had steering wheel controls.
Pioneer is always the best and this unit looks factory when installed.
Good choice!

you don't have any pictures of it installed by any chance, do you eddierox? One of my big things is finding something that looks like it belongs...which is why i had my sub box custom made to sit way down in the hatchwell in back haven't seen another one of those yet. I'm still debating between a din and a half or a one din with an eq right below it...

Here's some...hopefully you can see it. I had a piece of particle board cut to fit the shape of the hatch, and it just rests on the little shelf on the drivers side, and the actual sub box is built off of that and hangs below into the well. I had to throw a picture in of the rest of the car too

Damn, that sub enclosure is sharp! I'll dig around and see if I can find a pic of it installed. The biggest issue with it "belonging" in the dash was that my IROC had black interior, and the Pioneer was gray. I think it would fit better in the 4th gen interior. As far as fitment went it fit quite nicely in the mounting hole and there was little to no protrusion. I know I've seen at least a few pics of the 1.5 din posted on here.

Love this stereo! It does everything I need and more, plus it sounds waaay better than my old factory unit. I give it a thumbs up .
And a few more of my Sirius hook up in the trunk.
Not pretty, but it works .
Enjoy, Rob.Last edited by graphicsgod; 10-11-2005 at 09:24 AM.

Thanks for the pics graphicsgod...I think I've changed directions and am going with a single din and an half din eq instead. I didnt' realize the pioneer was as grey as it was....I'm kind of picky, and I think a black single din/matching eq will look a little better in there, and hopefully sound better too for around the same money. I'm thinking about one of the audiobahn headunits with the usb port on the front so i can hook up a memory stick with whatever music i want on it..and i think you can record radio/cds onto the memory stick as its playing too. I need to find a mounting kit though..any ideas on where to find what i'm looking for? (din + 1/2 din flush mount)
