    Custom box?

Does anyone make a custon box for a 8'' or 10'' sub that fits in that little cubby hole in the back of the camaro? The one that is level from the speare tire thing, on the left side.

    Thanks.

or make it yourself. . . thats what i did and will be doin again for the ta. takes a little time to get the angles just right but all it costs is a sheet of particle board, glue, and a little bit of carpet.

Well i looked, and after the board, which is about 1'' thick, and so on, looked like a 10'' sub, wouldnt be able to breath. Note, not where tee tops go, where that spar room is. Under back speaker thing.

I though a fiberglass box would be best.

My friend builds them and sells them on Ebay. Heres a link to one of his old sales:

He will have another batch ready to go this weekend. He did have to go up a little on the price though cause the price of materials when up.

thats not too bad of deal . . . dont know why he constructs the sides with right angles in the middle of the box. the one i made, the whole side just goes in at an angle towards the back, allowing a little bit more CF. one more tip, no matter where you get the box, fill it with with polyfil if its a sealed box. this makes the sub "think" there is more CF, preventing popping and possible damage to your sub.

Looks good. I'm wondering tho, a friend and me are going to do this, i know the car, he knows the speakers. But what 10'' sub would you suggest? I don't know speakers that well. And i know im going to need a single amp. Whats a good amp?

Last thing. Im using a stock HU, and is there anything important to do when wiring the sub/ amp? like take or leave monsoon amp.

    Thanks

I bought one off ebay for like $80, have one 10" kicker with class d mono channel kicker amp at 400watt rms. Sounds like I have two 12" in the back, great sounding box.

He said he can do it for $75 shipped if you go through me, but if you want to go through ebay it will be $80 shipped to cover the ebay expenses.

That is what I have, thought I had posted already in this thread. Looks like I forgot to hit submit or something though I really like it as far as sound wise, works well with the stock Monsoon, and it is light even with the built in amp. Easily carried it around with one hand.

I think it sounds good. Nice and clear, I use it more to support the rest of the system then for thump, so mine is turned down quite a bit. I have no complaints about the sub.
