    Cold Cranking Amps (Battery)

I am putting my Camaro on a diet, beginning with the battery. I am looking into Braille batteries and it seems that cold cranking amps are directly related to weight. My question is, what are cold cranking amps directly related to? I live in Florida and do not have to worry much about low temperatures. Could I get a Braille battery with 360 CCA, and 486 CA at 32* without seeing any problems?

Cold refers to your motor temp when attempting to start it. While it is warmer where your at, the motor is still cold as far as the starter is concerned. That's what you'll be hurting, underdriving the starter will shorten its life, as well as the batteries if its constantly being drained to start the motor.

    Is your car a DD?

Cold craking amps is the amout of current a battery can provide at 0 deg. f It has nothing to do with the temperature of the engine. I would go with either a 650cca or 700cca battery.
