    Changing Dash Light Color

I was wondering if this is possible? I figured if you put blue bulbs in you could make a neat blueish purple color like Volkswagens. Or are the bulbs red? I highly doubt that. Oh, the gauges are red, its in a Trans Am. Thanks

CHANGING THE DASH COLOR IS SWEET, I HAVE ON ORDER A SET OF L.E.D. BULBS THAT FIT IN F-BODIES. DON'T TRUST JUST ANY OLD BULBS FROM PEP BOYS, OR YOUR LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE. THEY ARE CHEAP AND VERY DULL. I HAVE SILVER FACE GAUGES IN MY SS, AND THE BLUE WILL STAND OUT. I CANT WAIT. AS FAR AS THE RED IN THE PONTIACS, I'M ALOMOST POSITIVE THEY ARE RED.

I don't know about trying blue bulbs in the Ponchos. I put blue LED bulbs in my Z. Anywhere on the gauges that is red in the daytime was blacked out at night.

In the camaro you can change the dash colors, for the pontiacs you're stuck with the red. I know because I've tried succeded, and tried and failed

Pontiacs have a red plastic/film to get their color. People have scraped this off and then used LEDS to change the color. They say it's a PITA though.

For camaro owners, it's just a matter of changing the film over the white lights. For pontiacs, I think they actually use red bulbs.

Not shown in the pics, my turns are blue as well.

I like your knobs. What are they out of? The stockers in the T/As suck unless you have woman fingers.

    What these ?

I purchased those on ebay about a year and a half ago. As far as I know they are one of a kind. Since I haven't seen them on there again. They were made to fit a Ford Focus (I think). And I customized them to fit my Camaro (since the peg in the back is bigger and has a much larger hole).

well poop. it would be cool to change it, but the red is a cool color. its not worth a big hassle to me but thanks for all the info, I might get some bulbs from that site to use in the old Cutlass. Brighten those rallye gauges up a bit.

I've seen a couple of different setups before. I think someone used the knobs out of a Sunfire once too. Anyone have pics or ideas?

I tried the Blue LED's in my z28 and just wasn't happy with them. I spent $25 in bulbs and then decided to get reverse glow guages. I bought the same set as the one in this post, but couldn't stand the glowing center, so I went with these for around $30 and they look stock and really like them. They are silver gauges and has a converter to make them much brighter or make the color a green instead of blue. They are the closest to stock I have seen.
