    CD player skipping

My cd's on my stock radio seem to skip under accleration. I have tried burning cds at a slower rate and even store bought cds. All of them seem to skip. Can it be fixed or do I need a new radio?

Fair to say radio is on it's way out.

You could try one of those "cleaning" CD's, but I don't think they work well.

I used to have a Kenwood Excelon CD player that skipped when my bass hit. I tried cleaning it, mounting it differently, tightening everything more...etc. No luck.

I ended up getting a CD-Changer to solve my problem

I can't say I've heard of people attempting to fix stocker, short of the suggestion I made earlier, I don't think I'd bother.

When a CD skips, it's b/c the media is being read intermittently (obviously). 3 major things cause this; shoty media (which you've ruled out), dirty/damaged media reader (CD player lens), or worse case scenario; loose wiring/bad soldering. The effort involved to trace all the circuitry IMO isn't worth it. Let alone you'll need a wiring diagram.

I'd try a cheap CD lens cleaner, as the cheapest resolution, but wouldn't get my hopes up.

Best bet, if your into the stock HU, post a thread in the parts wanted section, I'm sure there's a ton of people trying to sell there old HU.
